Le Corbusier Furniture combine a passion for classical Greek architecture and an attraction to the modern machine.
Le Corbusier published his ideas in a book entitled, Vers une Architecture, in which he refers to the house as a "machine for living," an industrial product that should include functional furniture or "equipment de l'habitation."

Eileen Gray Armchair Bibendum
After 1927, Eileen Gray worked as architect, designing a modernist house for herself for which she also created appropriately minimalist design furniture. Eileen Gray Bibendum Armchair
She also exhibited several architectural projects at Le Corbusier's "Pavillion des Temps Nouveaux" in 1937. Following that exhibition, Eileen Gray name faded quietly away until 1970 when collector Robert Walker began buying up her designs.
After 30 years of obscurity, the importance of Gray's work was again acknowledged.
